Spinning Classes Added to the Schedule We've added three new Spinning classes to the schedule! Now you can come on by for a great aerobic workout on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 9:00 AM. As always, we'll reserve a spot for you if you call ahead (but within 24 hours of the class, please), or you can just drop by, space permitting. You can find the complete class schedule here. New Pilates Specialty Class We've also added a new Pilates specialty class this quarter. The class will be held in the second floor studio on Tuesday mornings at 9:00 AM and requires registration. Pilates focuses on the core postural muscles that help keep the body balanced and are essential to providing support for the spine. The exercises include awareness of breathing with the aim of aiding the strengthening of the deep torso muscles. Just give us a call at (734) 665-2156 or email us and we'll get you set up. You can also find the complete class schedule here. |
Vie Open House Scheduled for January 18th Vie will be having an Open House at 6:00 PM on Friday, January 18th. Come join us for wine, live jazz, hors d'oeuvres, and new art from our friends at Washington Street Gallery. We hope you'll be able to join us. Please RSVP at (734) 665-2156 or send us an email. Pomegranate Juice Packs a Healthy Punch Pomegranate juice is receiving renewed attention. Studies earlier in the decade showed that pomegranates offer almost three times more disease-fighting antioxidants than other common antioxidant sources such as green tea, red wine, blueberry juice and cranberry juice. Pomegranates also boost energy by providing potassium, fiber, vitamin C and niacin. These vitamins and minerals have also been shown to reduce plaque build-up in arteries by up to 44 percent. It should be noted that many of these studies were sponsored by marketers of pomegranate juice. However, to our knowledge, the findings have not been disputed. In any case, we think pomegranate juice is delicious and refreshing. We like to mix ours into a smoothie with strawberries and mangos. Come on by the Vie Juice Bar after your next workout or spa treatment and try one. You might find you've discovered a new, healthy fruit to add to your diet! |
