before classes are full!
Treat Yourself
to an Iyengar Yoga Class
If
you’re
looking to stretch your muscles where they’ve never gone
before, try our
Wednesday 6:30 a.m. Iyenger Yoga
Class taught by certified instructor John
Lofy. Iyengar is a traditional approach
to yoga, developed by the world-renowned yoga master, BKS
Iyengar. This type of yoga is known for its emphasis
on proper alignment and technique. Classes focus on different
poses each week, and participants are treated
to a guided relaxation at the end. “The main point is to
bring people as deeply
as possible into the poses and into contact with their true
self,” says John.
During the
one hour class, John guides each individual through a series of yoga
poses,
gently encouraging them to take each pose to its full
potential. Participants report feeling relaxed and
invigorated at the same time. “I feel as
good afterward as I do after a massage,” said one client.
John
says that regular practice makes people more vibrant, more
compassionate and
better able to handle whatever life throws at them.
“This practice pushes me to my limits, both
physically and emotionally,” he says, “and I have
become so much stronger in
every way because of it.”
